Are HOAs too litigious?

Lawyers should see litigation as a means to an end.  The idea that our client Associations are sue happy for the sake and joy of the chess game itself is silly and expensive.  Litigious folks, whether involved in Association life and governance or not, are a reality of our system and our legal culture.  HOA disputes may get headlines, but the idea that these disputes overburden the courts and are more proliferate than other civil litigation is exaggerated at best.
